    It is very sturdy. It requires a screwdriver or the hex key it comes with, I have my iPad 9.7" in it. It has to be put in landscape, but can be turned 360 to be used vertical. I have it mounted at the corner of my desk facing me. I usually put my finger on the back of the iPad when I am pushing on the screen, but is not necessary. Mostly when I want to push buttons, just to avoid any unnecessary
    pressure or wear and tear. It is perfectly steady and doesn't move, unless I bump the desk… But it is moving with the desk, not independently. I did have to remove the iPad's case because it was to thick to fit. It is not mostly plastic as the person below stated… Arms and clamp are metal, only the holder clamp is plastic.

    Hinges will not hold the weight of a 13" iPad Air.

    The clamp is capable of holding a 13" iPad Air, but the hinges will not hold the weight of the tablet. It is supposed to be able to adjust the hinge tightness to hold the weight, but the screw that adjust the tightness of the hinges are already set at its tightest when you receive the stand. It will not adjust tighter. Basically making it a useless stand. This may have been a defective unit, but I returned it and have no intention of trying another.

    While it’s a great product overall, the fact that the ball portion of the ball and joint is fixed makes for limited mobility.
    It’s advertised as 180 degree joint, in reality it’s more like 60 degrees.

    The socket portion restricts the movement and again, since the ball is fixed, you end up w limited range.

    The other two joints provide adequate range and make it useable. However, I still find limitations because of the ball/socket joint.
    The mounting mechanism is well built and works effectively.

    A good product, it could be even better w more thought around the limited ball/socket joint.

    Update: 20250212, 1 year and 6 days after original purchase, the arm has gone slack. My Samsung Tab S6 is suddenly too heavy to hold. It's been hanging off my monitor arm the whole time, but my wife stole my tablet for about 6 months to entertain our boys on the commute to day care, so it doesn't even hold the tablet every day…

    I just got this yesterday, so set up today, hanging off the arm of my monitor mount to serve as a 5th screen. The clamp and arm seem solid enough for a tablet, as it's not being "touched" all day long, just when I first get to work/leave for the day. The thumb screw that it uses to "clamp" to the desk/arm is in my opinion too small. It's hard to get a hold of, once the thing is assembled, especially as my setup has the tablet basically RIGHT next to the mount, at least for right now, so the arm partially covers the thumb screw, and since I have it "under" the arm, the screw is down too. But it's holding my Samsung Tab S6 in a pretty beefy case just fine, and I didn't adjust the arm screws at all, just mounted it, and ran with it.
