I like the photos from this camera
Good overall video and photos but also has some limitations. Being incredible value for the money, I would give this camera a 5 star rating. Check my sample photos (before and after color correction) to give you a fair idea on what to expect. Amazon will lower the quality down. Before purchasing this camera, I had compared all the different action cameras in market, saw tons of Youtube videos and finally landed on Akaso camera and I am so glad I chose them! Let’s waste no time and let’s get straight into the review. What I really loved about this camera Real 4K resolution at 30FPS (Not sure if I am going to utilize the 60 FPS for regular video work ) Ability to take slow-mos at 1080p Voice commands Image stabilization in 4K 30FPS video mode (A LIFE SAVER) Good color and you can control exposure and ISO settings in video and photos respectively Easy to use Remote control WIFI connectivity to connect your phone. You can directly transfer photos and videos and upload them instantly] Super wide angle lens and adjustable angles Wind noise reduction is also a good feature Lots of accessories Warranty and good customer support (I can say this because they shipped me a charger last time in just couple of days after I sent them an email. That for me was really impressive. Just over $100 with a coupon. Go pros are way out of my budget. LIMITATIONS: Remote control is not waterproof. So underwater, you have to kind of use the camera to alter settings. Not quite the same quality as GoPro Little grainy photos. Not quite clear as my iPhone 8 plus No lens protector or casing (be careful to store your waterproof case in a sock) Doesn’t have external mic input (I guess very few brands offer that) Poor quality in dark (I guess that’s true for all the competitive brands) If you buy this camera, these are some useful tips for you : • Lower down the exposure while taking videos and keep ISO at 100 while taking pictures. (If you are looking to upload it after processing) • Use a sock to protect and keep the things (dirty, I know. I am going to keep using it until I buy a proper case for camera + accessories) • There is just one button on most software that would convert your fish-eye videos and photos to a normal one. I really hate the fish eye view and have an OCD about posting anything that looks even close to fish eye. • Turn off date stamp, loop recording and sounds • If you go underwater, turn auto off to max time so it doesn’t turn blank • You could do 2.7K videos and that might take up less space but 4K videos are the best looking by quite a distance. • If your micro SD card gets full, you can delete unwanted videos from preview screen. Otherwise it would start overwriting on your previous data. If there are any hiccups or problems with this camera, I'll update my review.

    I bought this camera for scuba diving and snorkeling and the camera has worked great. The videos are extremely clear, and stable. I was nervous about the case cracking when diving, but I did not have any issues when diving down to 60 feet. The camera is very high quality at a great price. It also comes with a ton of accessories, so it can be mounted anywhere.

    This is my first camera of this type. I bike, kayak and off-road, so this camera will definitely come in handy. There was no way I was paying GoPro prices as I will only use the camera for personal use on a limited basis.

    My first impression of the camera is very positive. It has plenty of features and the image quality is very good, in bright light. The kit comes with a lot of good accessories. I already have a mini tri-pod for my webcam that I can use, but it would be nice if it came with a mini tripod. With the money saved buying this camera, there are plenty of options for accessories, including extra batteries.

    I purchased a 128 GB mini-SD card even though the manual lists 32 & 64 GB cards are compatible. The camera recognized it and formatted it without issue. The 128 GB card allows for about 4 hours of video at 4k30fps.

    The not so great – the camera is only so so in low light situations. I don't plan to use it often in those situations and I knew this before purchasing. So not a deal breaker.

    One issue that is a pain, on one kayaking trip where temps were in the upper 90s, the camera shutdown because it got too hot. Understandable, but the only way to get it to come back on after it cooled down was to remove the battery and miniSD card and hook up a USB cable with 5 Watts and 2 Amps power source. The camera came right on and I was able to reinstall the battery and miniSD card. Although also not a deal breaker, I need to remember to bring a portable charge that can charge at those specs in case the camera overheats again.

    All in all, it is a great buy. It was priced at $140, but has a $25 off coupon when I bought it. It's a really nice camera that really captures the great moments when our in nature.

    Solid video for the price.

    Just got two of these in as they are cheap enough, I thought I'd give them a shot. I own 2 Yi 4k cameras as well as a gopro hero 7 black.
    Video – the 4k/60 and 4k/30, which are the only reasons I decided to purchase these, are pretty darn solid, good quality, certainly useable. Not quite up to par with the Yi 4k, but close enough. I'm satisfied as far as the video quality goes. Neither is quite up to par with the hero 7 but I wouldn't expect that. My main purpose for them was underwater use on a cruise we went on since they came with dive housings. They worked perfectly other than fogging up which, is disappointing, but it happens with all dive housings. Even with the inserts they still fogged up after about 30 minutes. I was highly impressed with the video quality regardless.
    Audio – This is the only reason I'm not rating this camera 5 stars. The audio is absolutely useless. The unit is only recording in mono for starters and not stereo. I've tried everything I can think of and cannot seem to find anything about tis issue online anywhere. The audio quality is nowhere close to useable either. The mics built into this thing are very cheap and have extremely thin sound. I suppose some of that could be contributed to the fact that only one mic is working, but without a fix for that, I have no way to tell.
    If anyone else has experienced this or has a fix, please let me know.

    Edit 1-10-19: So I contacted Akaso support and they determined that one of the cameras had a defective mic. I sent the camera and all of it's accessories back to them in the original box and they sent me a brand new one that I just received yesterday in the mail. Took a few weeks but all in all, not a bad experience. The cameras work out really nicely. The mics are very sensitive and don't do well in loud environments, but otherwise, are an excellent alternative to the uber-expensive GoPro's with most of the same features. All in all, the audio is decent but not pro-level which is more than acceptable at the price point and the video is far above what they could've settled on. My only other wish is that they would add more options for white balance and color temp along with iso and shutter speed.
