FEATURES 33MP back-illuminated CMOS full-frame sensor

Copper wiring contributes to higher transmission speeds and faster AD (analogue to digital) conversion. Fast sensor readout enables 10-bit 4:2:2 4K recording up to 60p. The sensor also provides improved color reproducibility, low-noise performance, 15+stop dynamic range and increased AF speed.

BIONZ XR image processor up to 8x processing speed

The BIONZ XR engine, also used in the Sony Alpha 1 and Alpha 7S III models, provides up to an 8x increase in processing speed. The engine concentrates real-time processing of AF, image recognition and image quality adjustment to minimize processing latency for greatly increased processing power.

4K 60p recording and 4:2:2 10-bit recording

Full pixel readout without binning allows 4K 60p recording in Super 35 mode providing high-resolution smooth footage that can be edited to 2x and 2.5x slow-motion when rendered to 30p or 24p in post-production, and 4K 24p or 30p full pixel readout without binning in full-frame with 7K oversampling.

The Sigma’s only manufacturing base, the Aizu factory’s ultra-high-precision aspherical molding technology makes it possible to produce the thin, highly polarized aspherical lenses that are essential for the construction of this lens. This has brought about a higher degree of freedom in optical design.

The lens has excellent close-up capability with a minimum focusing distance of 17cm / 6.7in. at the wide end and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7. This is useful when composing close-up shots of a subject, or when shooting in tight spaces where it is difficult to get a good distance from the subject.

Flare and ghosting, which reduce image quality, have been largely eliminated using advanced simulation technology, ensuring the lens renders rich, high-contrast results in all conditions. High backlight resistance enables clear and sharp images under any lighting conditions.

P-TTL flash metering is possible in between each exposure when working with lo, mid, or even hi-speed continuous shooting modes. This helps to maintain stable illumination if making low-light bursts and greatly benefits working in changing light or low-light conditions. The flash control system also helps to reduce flash trigger lag, uses the camera’s AWB information for natural color rendering, and supports adjusting select flash and transmitter units directly from the camera’s interface.

Quick and easy setup for live streaming

The α7 IV supports UVC (USB Video Class) / UAC (USB Audio Class) standards that are usually included in USB cameras, so there’s no need to prepare dedicated software in advance. Just connect via USB and get ready to go live at up to 4K resolution.

When you connect to a computer via USB, the USB function selection menu will pop up on the camera display. Simply select “Live Stream (USB Streaming)” and you’ll switch to that mode immediately, without needing any advance setup.
