Lasted a year. I woke up this morning and my car wasn’t charged. I got home today and it’s charging. While monitoring it, I noticed its internal temp is 128f. Which means it’s overheating. I dropped the amps from 40A to 32A and over the next hour the temp climbed to 138f. It’s 48f outside. So it should not have an internal temp that high. Everything I looked at says these chargers shouldn’t get that got and to stop using it. Now I have to order another one, which won’t be this brand. The temp has dropped since I last checked. To 131. I will update with more photos if I can; once the temperature rises again.

The 40A EV Charger by EVDANCE, is a well-made, high performing charger, with all the capabilities you should need to keep your EV ready to go. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.
I. Quality – The charger looks and feels like a very well-made charger, with thick cables and a strong build. I was really surprised at how nice of quality this one is for this level of cost. I’ve seen a ton of EV chargers and this one caught my attention as far as build quality in a portable charger. It also comes with one of the nicest travel bags I’ve seen included with an EV charger. I’d put the overall quality in the lower side of the upper tier of the quality scale for at home EV chargers and guess that it should hold up well over time.
II. Performance – It’s worked great in many ways, with power up to 40A that is adjustable to what you need. It has a useful screen for helpful information, such as timer, current, voltage, power used and temperature, that many don’t have. However, after the first few uses I end up not using the screen anymore anyways, but it’s nice to have. It has at least 6 different safety features, to help keep you safe. The 25-foot cable is on the longer side of the cables available and great to have if you can’t park next to the charger.
Overall, this is a fantastic option that offers a high charging ability, with notable quality, convenience, all the basic features needed and you take easily take it with you if needed in the included travel bag. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.

I like how the controls are very simple. There are only 2 buttons, and the display is fairly easy to read. One button to choose the desired charging amperage, and the other button to center a delayed start time. I put it on the highest setting and was charging my bolt E v. Within 20 minutes I had gained 11 Miles. That's a lot faster than my little 110 charger! The plug goes in firmly and feels very strong. I put 2 screws in the wall and hung the charger on the wall so it's not flopping around. The mounting holes on the back of the charger worked well. The cord is plenty long and reaches way out to my car in the driveway. I think it is about 25 feet long. The holster is meant to be both a cord. Hangar and the place to put the charge plug when not in use. When mounted to the wall, the holster holds the charge plugged straight out which might get in the way. If you need to be close to your wall. I used a different holster that allows the charge plug to be vertical and it takes less space.
