2019 Huion KAMVAS 16 Drawing tablet. This is my first art pad, so unable to compare brands. Be careful during your searches and selection, some pens require batteries, some differences in tablets.
It is not flimsy. The anti-glare screen is perfect. I like the size, overall about the same as my laptop but thinner and lighter of course. It came with a glove, extra pen tips, a pen and pen stand, and the required cords/cables… be sure you have the needed ports for whatever you end up buying, this has hdmi and usb.
I think your amount of satisfaction will come from your expectations of what an art pad can do, and what you can do on an art pad. They are input devices. You use software to input your artwork. It won't turn you into an artist, it is a tool.
Some software can be tricky, especially if you've never used any before. If you don't want to learn to use, you aren't going to be happy. I have a very simple/cheap hp laptop, and it's all working fine. I am theoretically the age beyond which people think I can learn and use software, but I'm muddling along just fine.
There isn't any lag between pen tip and drawing effect.
I got this so that I could have it at my chair, where I spend too much time in my retirement. I didn't want to have paper and pencils/pen anymore, and I wanted to "paint" again without being required to be in another room or making a mess. Mostly to experiment with color. I don't like that people think they are entitled to look at my sketch book. It's where i practice and learn. The tablet is neater/cleaner for me too.
I tried a couple different programs (gimp, sketchpad… etc) and have been using krita. Again, this will all be dependent on your laptop, and your personal experience and preference, the art tablet is basically a touchscreen monitor.
Then pen is ok in my hand not too heavy, and the software allows for it to be used like your favorite tool, even increasing line weight with pressure. The pen body is a bit thick towards the tip, so blocks a bit of the work as I sketch, this is probably just something to get used to. But the tip of the pen can be calibrated to your sight and touch.
I love that I can do studies, and save as files. This is enabling me to sketch more again.
If you like illustration, linework, anime, cartooning, etc., I think this is definitely the way to go. For sketching, improving skills, and conceptualizing, it's a great tool. I'm not to the point where I'm creating any real art on it yet, but there's plenty out there that people are creating.
I think that if you've decided to get an art pad, this is a good buy. Larger may have been nice, but I like that it's within my space. It's comfortable on my lap, propped on a pillow. I don't think I'd be using the stand if I had bought the "pro" model, but if you use it at a desk that might be a nice option.

Honestly I bit off more than I can chew, traditional art doesn’t mean you’re a god digitally. But besides my stupidity it’s just amazing, it’s slim and simple to use. The screen is responsive to my inputs and by god the tilt detection makes it feel nearly as close to drawing on paper. It doesn’t take as much space as I thought it would and works well as a second screen if you want to just put the pen down. The pen is fragile as hell if not already obvious, be mindful adding pressure to the pen. I had to replace it twice, but it might just be that I got big hands I don't know.

I've had this tablet for 2 years, used it for classes(visual development) and personal art.

I used to have some issues with drivers here and there, but with driver updates and computer updates, I have a lot less problems now.

I noticed for some reason colors are really off when I connect to a mac but colors are closer on windows, with and without adjusting the settings on the tablet(adjusting on mac took a lot more effort). I have a dual monitor set up so I am able to check my colors though.

This size was perfect for me as a student who had to travel to school then back home for holidays. If you are able to afford a bigger screen though I think you should possibly get a bigger size than this one, buuuttttt I feel this may be the perfect size, not too small and not to big.

Not much money or just starting out then this is the Monitor Tablet for you.
I am both those and have found this product to be just what I wanted.
Light weight, responsive and fine enough screen to do some quality work (well one day maybe hey, as I still need to master this way of drawing) .
I don't find the screen brightness low nor the reflective coating too reflective, but then I only use it in a window curtained room.
Only a very minor lag on my old 2012 cheap end Mac. I use this tablet as my only monitor too.
Can't beat the price nor the quality.
    Cheers

Great value for a starter pen display while purchasing on the cheap (which I did)

Reviewed in Australia on March 30, 2021

    Pros:
If available on the cheap compared to the other models, this is incredible value for money for a starter pen display. IMO, you won't be losing out on much compared to the more expensive models.
Pen pressure sensitivity works great, tapering is really nice, no issues.
Stylus feels nice to use, with great tilt. No more hand pain while gripping the stylus too hard or at weird angles like using a non display tablet. Just hold the stylus naturally as you would a pen.
While the display is powered down, you can use it like a non pen display tablet to draw.
Screen is at a good in-between size, just big enough where it provides a great drawing surface, while being small enough to be somewhat portable and does not require a mounting arm.

    Cons:
Screen can have reflective glares, so you do need to use it angled away from light sources.
Buttons can get stuck causing some minor issues. Unsure if the keys sticking is due to software or hardware issue.
Laptop users, beware, this pen display continues to consume power while powered down. Unplugging it from your laptop is a good solution to conserve your battery, though you would lose your setup on the display.
The right side where the power cable plugs into, heats up to a slight warmth. I mostly use the left – centre area, so it doesn't bother me, but it may bother some.

    Conclusion:
Really enjoy using this product as my 1st pen display. Will certainly look at Huion again for my next upgrade.
