Good Video Stabilization Ability and Clear Video Even in a Darkened Room
Overall, I'm pleased with the video quality of this camera module — the video quality from this camera was surprisingly clear even in a darkened conference room as shown in my short video clip of my lighted laptop keyboard on the conference table. I like the fact that this camera module comes with a small lens cap and it is a low distortion lens. I was also pleased to learn that this camera seems to have good stabilization ability because in my short video clip I did not make any effort to hold the camera steadily and the video clip did not turn out overly shaky. I was happy to know that the video quality, even in that darkened room, turned out clear with no grainy or fuzzy video Note: In the online product description, it's listed as 11.6 Megapixel. On the actual white sticker label on the back of the camera board (as seen in my photo) it says 12 Megapixel because they simply rounded up 11.6 MP to 12 MP for simplicity. It was easy to hook up, the USB cable plugged snugly into my Nitro 5 laptop USB port. Although this camera module does not have built-in speakers, in the video, I used my laptop's video camera software to record the video by hooking the camera module to my laptop. I also appreciate that the video has a smooth, film-like quality, as opposed to the usual sharp and harsh look of camcorder footage.

    I tested several ELP USB webcams and a few other brands and this one was my favorite! Crystal clear, great color reproduction, no problems with distortion, and FAST frame rates. I included a video comparison, and this is the bottom left camera in the video. Wow – it's very good. It worked with no drivers and works with Linux on the RPI as well as MacOS with no setup. Easy to use, and will work great for various computer vision applications, including laser printing, or many other opencv or similar uses. I am running this with edge detection for a custom ai image software, and it's the camera I chose to keep running after testing all of them. Highly recommended.

    I was skeptical about the high price, but this camera packs a punch. The frame rate and resolution is phenomenal and the latency is low. The claimed 88° field of view is accurate…not quite fish eye but not too narrow. The naked board is easy to accommodate and build a housing to suit my needs. Good quality and an excellent camera.

    This is a quality camera that is especially good for maker projects. The camera detected without any drivers in Windows. The fixed lens is clear with low chromatic aberration. The 1080p120 setting is featured, but this camera will operate at a variety of resolutions and frame rates that are all visible in OBS. 1080p120 is probably the best overall option, but it can be matched to my canvas.

    The only downside to the YUY2 format is the serious reduction in frame rate. But regardless of which codec used, the image quality of this camera is excellent. It's high speed up to 1080p, but will do higher resolutions at lower framerates. I had no problem using this on either my Linux or Windows PC's, seen easily by both, and whatever cam viewer software I used had no problem seeing this. I did not try it out on my Raspberry pi, however, as I didn't have it up and running, but it lists that as being compatible as well.

    Overall, it's a great little USB camera, and I really have no complaints.

    Works great, really just plug in and it works with my laptop! Very small in size. The one thing to keep in mind is the wires are slightly exposed near the camera side of the cable and the cable isn't super long. But otherwise, it serves the purpose.
