    These work as advertised however the plastic you are supposed to heat around the wire is low quality and takes a lot of heat to shrink around the wire. These metal is sturdy however I would still consider these to be cheap connectors due to the plastic part. They are good for the money and easy to use I guess it just depends on if you want cheap or good quality connectors .

    Do not purchase these! I am a 20 year IT and electronics professional and these are garbage. The metal is very lite weight and the crimp area very small thus wires are not secure can easily get pulled out.
    I waited until I ran out of my older supply ran out and let the return period laps before I used them. I wish I could get my money back as I will never use them. I can not trust their reliability!!!

    Questionable delivery and boxing

    The documentation shows these connectors as a clean easy to use set — Don't be fooled, it comes all scrambled in a loose jumbled delivery of pieces.
    The insulation is listed as Heat Shrink, but the heat shrink needs to be cut off or dealt with using a very sharp box knife. The insulation is very thick, and MAY have been shrink to fit the shafts initially? The heat shrink covers part of the opening where if you want to solder, it makes you HAVE TO cut part of the shrink off to work the connector. I would consider a traditional connector where you can 'back-off the insulation' so you can solder. Sorry, I don't trust clamp down connections!

    The rings are easy to bend and should be much harder to do so.

    Using a crimper designed for heat shrink connectors, I crimped a red one onto an 18AWG wire and I was able to pull it off very easily. I tried a blue one and crimped it onto the wire using the spot that should be used for red and then it held OK, that's a huge red flag, the red spot on the crimper should be for the red terminals only.

    The amount of metal to crimp on to the wire is very small and doesn't cover much and again is much too thin.

    The heat shrink is very good, however.

    I've included several photos of a comparison against what I consider a very good heat shrink ring terminal.
    Picture 1: the ring on the top is the good one and the bottom is from this kit. The good terminal has a larger ring surface area but the inner diameter hole is the same as the one from the kit.
    Picture 2: the ring on the right is the good one and the left is one from the kit, I hope you can see the difference in the length of the cylinder that crimps around the wire and that it is longer on the good terminal ensuring a good grip of the wire.
    Picture 3: A closer view of the comparison. Again the good terminal is on the top.
    Picture 4: A view of the wall thickness of the cylinder that crimps around the wire. The one on the right is good terminal and you can see its walls are much thicker than the one in the kit. This make a very good crimp and holds onto the wire extremely well.

    I do not recommend these terminals for any application.

    I'm quite disappointed with these ring terminals as the metal is a lot thinner than the industry standards. I've worked in electronics for over 15 years and these are by far the worst crimp terminals I've seen. I tried using these terminals on a power distribution block, but unable to continue using these terminals because the wires keep pulling out. The terminals are very difficult to crimp properly as the wires pull out too easily despite properly using the correct wire gauge in each terminal. I'm using a ratchet crimper like I normally use with all my other crimp style terminals; however, these were the only terminals that did not work. The only way to tighten the crimp is to smash them down further with pliers, but it makes a mess of the crimp and is not the proper way to crimp terminals. And since the metal is so thin throughout the terminal, I question the ability to carry the rated current for 10-gauge wiring. I think for 16 to 22-gauge wiring, these terminals can handle the current. This makes them okay for low-power electronics or signal wires, but skip them for anything automotive or high-draw like 10 to 12 gauge power runs where high current matters. Due to the thin metal, it makes the terminals too easy to bend and fatigue. I've snapped off a few by accident just by lightly bending them. I cannot recommend these crimp terminals just because these are a fire hazard and electrical short waiting to happen.

    Decent connectors, I am pleased with their function. The packaging is not as organized as the picture with only three compartments, not six. They do have markings on the plate, identifying the wire size range and the metric bolt size range, making it easier to sort. I would prefer if they came sorted by ring size and mix the colours. It is easy to see the correct colour but not as easy to identify the ring size.
